About The Position

The Patient Access Representative facilitates a quality and efficient patient intake process through various tasks including pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, document completion, and point of service collections. The role requires working across multiple locations within the facility or system, performing various tasks within Patient Access Services (PAS) operations, which may include call center duties, patient-facing interactions, and bedside functionality.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent public relations skills and a pleasant professional demeanor.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
• Ability to make independent decisions and display emotional maturity.
• One year of previous customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding techniques preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to comprehend a large variety of operating procedures.
• Ability to organize for maximum time utilization and productivity.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations.
• Proficient use of computer equipment.
• Ability to read and write legibly with spelling accuracy.
• Flexibility to work hours and days outside of normal shifts as needed.
• Some college coursework preferred.

Nice To Haves
