As a Physical Therapist Assistant you will administer therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities to assist patients in healing and return to their daily living activities. You will perform components of physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected by a supervising physical therapist; assist physical therapists in providing services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease.

  • Instructs, motivates and assists patients to learn and improve functional activity, such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation and daily living activities
  • Assesses, and compiles data on patients' responses to treatments
  • Fit patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices
  • Encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education
  • Associate Degree; Major in Kinesiology/Applied Science or other Physical Therapy related field
  • Licensed by the State of Texas- Physical Therapist Assistant
  • BLS CPR certified, American Heart Association
  • Effective Communication
  • Knowledge of the principles and skills of the clinical process to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
  • Basic Computer skills
