Responsibilities

• Field and direct incoming calls, responding to patient and staff inquiries.
• Prepare registration and admission forms for patients upon arrival.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and treating all patients and staff with respect.
• Gather and verify confidential health and financial information from patients.
• Enter new patient data and verify that patient records are up-to-date in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure compliance with patient privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining pre-authorizations as needed.
• Communicate coverage and eligibility information to patients regarding medical necessity.
• Identify patients needing Medicare Advance Beneficiary Notices (ABNs) and maintain accurate records.
• Perform other clerical duties as assigned, demonstrating knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
