About The Position

Join Southcoast Health, a not-for-profit, charitable health system with multiple hospitals, clinics, and facilities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We are searching for a talented Patient Access Intake Representative to facilitate patient access throughout the organization. This role is crucial in ensuring patient compliance with hospital policies and obtaining accurate patient information to ensure safety and optimal reimbursement in accordance with various external regulations. Requirements

  • Completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Medical Terminology Certificate required.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Strong computer skills including medical-based programs required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, and other software programs is preferred.
  • Three (3) years related health care experience including working with third party payers is required.
  • CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manager) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • CHAM or CHAA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access throughout the organization.
  • Ensure patient compliance with applicable hospital policy.
  • Obtain accurate patient information to ensure patient safety and optimal reimbursement.
  • Determine and actively collect patient liabilities.
