About The Position

Join Southcoast Health, a not-for-profit, charitable health system with multiple hospitals, clinics, and facilities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We are searching for a talented Revenue Cycle Specialist Front-End to handle patient registration, insurance verification, pre-registration, and point of service collections. This role ensures accurate patient data and educates patients on their financial responsibilities. The position requires on-site coverage at public arrival desks and the Emergency Department, and involves collaboration with clinical and revenue cycle teams. Requirements

  • Completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Medical Terminology Certificate preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including medical-based programs.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other software programs preferred.
  • Over three years related health care experience including working with third party payers preferred.
  • CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manager) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) encouraged.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 or exempt for medical or personal reasons.

  • Experience with third party payers in a healthcare setting.
  • Certification in healthcare access management.

Responsibilities

  • Handle patient registration and insurance verification.
  • Perform pre-registration and point of service collections.
  • Ensure accurate patient data and educate patients on financial responsibilities.
  • Manage financial counseling referrals and Medicare compliance forms.
  • Oversee valuables management and morgue coordination.
  • Provide customer service and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams.
  • Provide on-site coverage at public arrival desks and the Emergency Department.
