About The Position

Welcome to a medical center where you're the center of attention. Exciting opportunity in Overlake's brand new Off-Campus Emergency Department. Overlake has opened our first off-campus ED (OCED) facility in Lynnwood fall 2025. This new OCED provides 24/7 ED-level care in a highly collaborative, fast-paced setting. Based on the model MultiCare has used to open highly successful OCED locations across Washington State. The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for exemplary customer service in greeting and orientation of patients and visitors to the hospital. Interviews the patient for complete demographic and financial data to complete the registration process accurately, efficiently and promptly. Collects appropriate monies, obtains appropriate signatures, notifies patients/guests of hospital regulations, policies and services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Formal training in medical terminology, hospital finance and customer relations is preferred.
  • Previous admission/registration experience or previous physician office, hospital or other frontline customer contact experience in in a fast paced, high volume business setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interview, educate and advise patients of hospital policies and the professionalism to positively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization are required.
  • Knowledge of the financial requirements of insurances, HMO and PPO organizations and state and federal programs.
  • Must be articulate and skilled in teaching patients how to access the healthcare system.
  • Intermediate level typing skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced area, where the performance and concentration of several tasks may be required simultaneously.
  • COVID-19 vaccination requirement: After October 18, 2021 all Washington state healthcare employees, contractors and volunteers will be required to provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization as a condition of employment.
