As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area. A caregiver in this position works 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years Cleveland Clinic outpatient scheduling experience or other equivalent position, which includes interacting with patients, physicians, and other departments on a problem resolution basis.
  • OR three years external outpatient scheduling experience where demonstrated experience includes resolving patient scheduling and the coordination of the work of others.
  • Associate degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree may substitute for the experience requirement.
  • Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.
  • Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech.
  • Occasional lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • You will be required to comply with this program, which will include obtaining an influenza vaccination on an annual basis or obtaining an approved exemption.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance of and assists in training patient service representative.
  • Screen candidates, recommend hires, conduct performance appraisals and recommend corrective counseling.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee programs to improve appointment utilization such as, reminder, follow-up on no-show/cancellation program.
  • Coordinate activities and resolve operational problems.
  • Adjust employees, patients, and physicians' schedules to respond to operational problems.
  • Control and audit the reconciliation of day sheets including adjusting statistics in the computer data bank.
  • Produce reports as needed.
