The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for making patient appointments and reminder calls. This role involves greeting, registering, and checking in or out all patients, as well as verifying demographic and insurance coverage information and accurately entering it into the appropriate system/patient record. The coordinator will also collect co-pays and other payments, and prepare daily deposit and reconciliation reports. A key part of the role is receiving, accurately, and timely relaying all phone messages to and from providers, logging them appropriately. Additionally, the position provides clerical and secretarial support to the office, which includes typing correspondence and reports, sorting and delivering mail, processing incoming and outgoing faxes, and ordering and maintaining supplies.
