About The Position

The Patient Access Coordinator (PAC) serves as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking to become patients at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless entry into care, providing one-call resolution for applicants. The PAC will engage with callers live, conducting a high-level assessment to determine the clinical appropriateness for one of the Foundation's facilities while also verifying benefits. Collaboration with various roles within the organization is essential to provide effective resolution for callers during their first interaction, and to facilitate the scheduling of appointments for clinical assessments when necessary. In this position, the PAC will utilize strong customer service and sales skills to address the needs of callers effectively. Responsibilities include conducting screenings to assess clinical fit for Hazelden Betty Ford's substance abuse services, obtaining financial and insurance/benefit information to determine eligibility for the programs available at HBFF locations, and managing a patient caseload to ensure successful conversion to admission. Additionally, the PAC is responsible for ensuring that all appropriate documentation is accurately recorded in the patient record to facilitate complete and accurate registration in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The ideal candidate for this position must be able to commute to either the Rancho Mirage, CA or Center City, MN locations, as the role requires a strong commitment to providing compassionate care and support to individuals seeking help with addiction. The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation prides itself on being a mission-driven organization, dedicated to providing hope and healing to those affected by addiction. As part of a larger team of over 1600 employees, the PAC will contribute to the Foundation's goal of being a best place to work, where every employee plays an active role in achieving this vision.
