About The Position

The Patient Access Coordinator role is a clerical position involving multiple tasks and functions to facilitate the flow of patient information across the continuum of care. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL, providing 24-hour emergency services and a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents, and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults. Our treatment philosophy is based on a team approach that treats patients with dignity and respect, while delivering high-quality care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year business office experience preferred in a health care/insurance setting with computer knowledge and data entry skills.
  • Ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner.
  • Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.
  • Handle with Care Crisis Intervention Training required (Can be obtained upon hire).
  • Current CPR Certification required (Can be obtained upon hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaking skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with obtaining accurate patient demographics upon admission/registration
  • Assist with obtaining required income documentation and forms for patients who qualify for Charity/Indigent Care.
  • Makes necessary phone calls and generates letters to patients and/or family members for any self pay balances.
  • Takes an active role in attaining and maintaining accounts receivable and assists in reviewing/selecting accounts to be placed with outside collection agencies.
  • Secures patient valuables in accordance with the established Policy and Procedures.
