About The Position

The position at Allegheny Health Network (AHN) involves creating a positive first impression for patients and their families upon arrival. Requirements

• High School diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• One year of related experience, preferably in a medical or financial services setting.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conducts scheduling, registration, and admitting functions independently at bedside.
• Validates patient demographic data and verifies insurance information through various methods.
• Obtains limited clinical data based on service required and collects necessary data for timely bill submission.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, calculates estimates, and collects liabilities in the ADT system.
• Delivers a positive patient experience and cooperates with healthcare personnel and external agencies.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and accurate registration in electronic health records during system downtimes.
• Acts as a central resource for registration and problem resolution during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Responds to inquiries from patients, visitors, and hospital personnel under all circumstances.
