About The Position

The Patient Access Associate serves as a vital support role within the Patient Access Department at Piedmont Healthcare. This position is responsible for ensuring that patient accounts are accurately maintained with valid insurance coverage and up-to-date demographic and clinical data. The associate calculates patient financial responsibilities, presents financial options, processes payments, and secures necessary patient consents and acknowledgments.

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
• One year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, clinical role, or related clerical accounting/finance/retail.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred.
• Certification with Healthcare Financial Management Association or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative preferred.
• Prior Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient-facing support for the Patient Access Department.
• Ensure patient accounts are complete with valid insurance coverage and current demographic/clinical data.
• Calculate patient financial responsibility and present financial options/requirements.
• Process patient payments and secure patient consent on required forms/notices.
