About The Position

The Patient Access & Engagement Manager provides strategic leadership, oversight, and accountability for all outreach, engagement, and enrollment activities El Proyecto’s clinics. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving outreach and enrollment strategies that advance health equity, patient access, and organizational growth.

  • Bachelor's degree in in public health, healthcare administration, social services, or related field required; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience, preferably including supervision and management experience, Health Care preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.
  • Walking, talking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to ten pounds; hand and wrist dexterity to utilize a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee EPDB’s outreach, engagement, and enrollment strategy aligned with Community Needs Assessments and organizational goals.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for Outreach Specialists and Patient Access Supervisor.
  • Establish outreach targets, enrollment goals, and productivity metrics; monitor performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with NCQA PCMH standards, health plan requirements, and EPDB policies and procedures.
  • Oversee staff training and competency assessments, including cultural and linguistic competency, customer service, and outreach best practices.
  • Analyze outreach and enrollment data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership, care management teams, and external partners to coordinate outreach initiatives.
  • Oversee documentation integrity in the electronic health record (EHR) and ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare reports for executive leadership, quality committees, and the Board of Directors as required.
  • Participate in budget planning, staffing models, and resource allocation for outreach and enrollment functions.
  • Manage departmental performance, including reporting on key metrics.
  • Recruit, manage, and review a team of professionals.
  • Provide orienation and training to subordinates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
