About The Position

Presbyterian is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Access Advocate to be the welcoming face of our healthcare team. In this vital role, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service while ensuring every registration is accurate, complete, and compliant. You'll handle everything, from verifying insurance and collecting payments to guiding visitors and updating crucial demographic and billing information. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.)

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 6 months’ experience in healthcare setting or 1 year customer service background.
  • Pass 2-week Patient Access Academy with a passing score of 85% or higher (within 6 mos of start).
  • Requires basic understanding of registration and healthcare.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

Nice To Haves

  • CHAA, CHAM or other industry equivalent certification preferred
  • Basic understanding of insurance preferred.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and billing codes (DRG, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) preferred

Responsibilities

  • The Patient Access Advocate I provides primary registration of patient accounts for self-pay, government and commercial accounts on date of service for scheduled and unscheduled visits.
