About The Position

The Patient Access Advocate is responsible for completing patient registration for self‑pay, government, and commercial insurance accounts at the time of service for both scheduled and unscheduled visits. This role ensures accurate and efficient registration to support accurate billing and an exceptional patient experience. Menaul has night and swing shifts available.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 months experience in a healthcare setting or 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Ability to pass the Patient Access Academy within 6 months of hire (85% or higher).
  • Ability to pass the EPIC proficiency test with a score of 85% at the end of training.

Nice To Haves

  • CHAA, CHAM, or similar industry certification.
  • Basic understanding of insurance, medical terminology, and billing codes (DRG, ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS).
  • Familiarity with healthcare registration processes.
  • Strong keyboarding and data‑entry skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional, welcoming patient experience using strong communication skills and effective service‑recovery techniques.
  • Complete accurate patient registration, including demographics, insurance verification, and thorough documentation.
  • Educate patients on insurance benefits, financial responsibilities, and available financial assistance programs.
  • Collect patient financial obligations at the time of service and ensure accounts are financially cleared.
  • Maintain compliance with payer guidelines, Medicare (CMS) requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Support data accuracy, productivity goals, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to high‑quality customer service in every interaction.
