About The Position

The Pathway of Hope Caseworker plays a crucial role in implementing the social service aspect of the Pathway of Hope program at The Salvation Army. This position is centered around utilizing strength-based case management to ensure that the mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out. The Caseworker will be responsible for distributing information regarding the Pathway of Hope to interested stakeholders and maintaining updated pamphlets and materials. Building and maintaining working relationships with community agencies is essential, as is recruiting and engaging families who are interested in enhancing their level of sufficiency. The Caseworker will refer families to services designed to address their identified goals and will be responsible for completing all required documentation in the Salvation Army Information Management System (SIMS) accurately and in a timely manner. Additionally, maintaining client files in accordance with Pathway of Hope guidelines is a critical aspect of this role. The Caseworker will meet monthly with the Pathway of Hope Regional Coordinator to implement recommendations and will participate in cluster meetings and training opportunities related to the program. Completing divisional or territorial education forums and webinars as indicated by the Corps Officer, Regional Coordinator, or Divisional Social Services Director is also part of the job. The Caseworker may assist with other duties as requested, contributing to the overall mission of The Salvation Army to meet human needs without discrimination. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, along with at least one year of casework experience preferred. A valid driver's license is necessary, and the Caseworker must complete various training programs within specified timeframes after hiring. Strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively in English, and basic knowledge of Spanish are beneficial for this role. The Caseworker may also supervise volunteers working in a mentoring relationship with clients, ensuring that the program's objectives are met while fostering a supportive environment for both clients and volunteers.
