About the position

The Pathway Coordinator / Transition Liaison at Marblehead High School for the School Year 2025-26 is responsible for leading the implementation and support of the DESE-approved MET Innovation Career Pathway (ICP) and any additional pathways. This role involves managing grants, coordinating with various departments, and engaging with community organizations to enhance student opportunities. The position also includes responsibilities related to vocational support for students with special needs, ensuring they have access to job shadowing, internships, and other work-based learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and support of the DESE-approved MET Innovation Career Pathway (ICP) and any additional pathways.
  • Write and manage DESE ICP Implementation & Support Grant and the Skills Capital Grant for equipment and technology.
  • Coordinate with the Pathway Teacher Team and School Counseling Department on curriculum, enrollment, credentialing, and dual enrollment.
  • Manage and update the MET Website, Google Classroom, and Blog for student/parent engagement and program communication.
  • Partner with community organizations such as MassHire, NSCC, Salem State, and North Shore Community College.
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with local industry professionals and companies.
  • Organize and facilitate Guest speaker events, Industry site visits, Informational interviews, Job shadowing opportunities, Internships and part-time employment.
  • Create and distribute promotional materials for recruitment and program awareness (brochures, flyers, presentations).
  • Lead weekly Pathway Teacher Team meetings and contribute to the development of a Corporate Partner Advisory Board.
  • Actively recruit students at school events, open houses, and through middle school outreach.
  • Attend professional development opportunities and networking events.
  • Coordinate senior year 100-hour internships aligned with MET career pathways.
  • Collaborate with Special Education Transition Teacher, Chairperson, and Case Managers to identify students for vocational supports.
  • Develop and maintain job shadowing, internship, volunteer, and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Support and train Job Coaches to ensure student success during internships.
  • Maintain a school-wide student job board and cultivate relationships with employers and community partners.
  • Coordinate field trips to local businesses and organizations.
  • Organize and facilitate: College/career readiness workshops, Community and corporate guest speaker sessions, Informational interviews.
  • Conduct student interviews for internships and assist in placement planning.
  • Serve as liaison between MHS staff and outside agencies, companies, and postsecondary institutions to promote awareness and opportunity sharing.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
