Key Position Details: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) 8-hour day shift No weekends Job Description: Assists physicians during dissections and delivers sections to Histology Lab. Maintains organization of all files (slides, Kodachromes, photos, heart and surgical specimens, reports, etc.), and cleanliness of lab, photo, and storage areas. Assists with reception duties when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a science related field or pre-med

Responsibilities

• Assists pathologist in dissection procedures.
• Labels histology cassettes under the supervision of a pathologist.
• Delivers and retrieves histology slides.
• Bags and hangs specimens.
• Prepares specimens for view by physicians, medical device engineers, and students.
• Lab management.
• Performs routine duties including; logging, copying, and retrieving specimens.
• Compiles data, materials, and specimens as requested.
• Cleans and organizes lab, photo, and storage areas, which includes disposal of waste materials.
• Administrative duties.
• Assists with reception duties as needed.
• Stocks all necessary supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
