Job Summary Summary Performs a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision. Reports to a Laboratory Supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Minimum two years of experience as a CLA I or II 2-3 years required
- Good interpersonal and communication skills so as to be able to interact effectively with individuals in the lab and the hospital.
- Ability to multitask and work accurately under stress of time constraints and heavy workload demands.
- Demonstrates excellent dependability, reliability, accuracy, prioritization ability, problem solving skills, customer service and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Accurately enters information from requisition (including patient name, unit number, requesting area, time sample drawn, physician’s name, tubes received, tests requested, general comments) into computer.
- Transfers samples from racks to the centrifuges and to decant station.
- Processes ADDs: locates sample, adds tests to original accession, completes ADDs form.
- Acts as resource to CLA I and CLA II staff.
- Handles special specimens (e.g. Sendouts).
