The Pathology Laboratory Assistant is responsible for processing samples for laboratory analysis, verifying test completion in the laboratory computer system, and providing laboratory processing support to Surgical Pathology. The role includes distributing microscopic slides and reports, preparing tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis, and staining tissue for Routine, Special Stains, and Immunofluorescence as requested. The assistant maintains and operates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and procedures, demonstrates advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and maintains a positive and professional work environment. Additionally, the assistant performs laboratory test procedures.
