Requirements

  • Previous experience in a pathology lab or hospital setting.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, clinical pathology, and laboratory procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Physical Stamina to perform required tasks
  • Master's degree in Pathologist Assistant program from an accredited institution (NAACLS).
  • Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) preferred and eligibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting gross examination, dissection, and dictation of all surgical specimens, including complex cases.
  • Preparing tissues for histopathology processing.
  • Assisting in the preparation of frozen sections during intraoperative consultations.
  • Recording and analyzing patient medical histories and clinical findings.
  • Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment.
  • Ensuring accurate labeling and documentation of specimens.
  • Collaborating with pathologists and other medical professionals.
  • Supervising and training laboratory personnel.
  • Complying with safety and quality control standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
