Join our dynamic and diverse team in a practice that includes three full-time and two per-diem pathologists, serving a broad area across northern Nevada and northeastern California. Our laboratory handles a wide array of complex cases, including hematopathology, solid tumors, and a variety of other specimens such as head & neck, GYN, breast, lung, GI, GU, and derm specimens. Located in Reno, NV, our practice is at the heart of a vibrant community with rich history. Nestled in the stunning Truckee Meadows on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Reno sits at an elevation of 4,505 feet, offering breathtaking views and outdoor adventures year-round. Known for its strong community spirit, Reno proudly supports local farmers, small businesses, and each other, making it an exciting and fulfilling place to live and work. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science + documented 3+ years' full-time grossing experience, or Masters Pathologists' Assistant program from a NCCLS accredited institution
  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists BOC is preferred
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, microscopes, and audible alarms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a vital part of the patient care process through preparation, gross description, and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens
  • Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
