The purpose of the Pathologists' Assistant (PA) is to aid pathologists with the diagnosis of each case on the specimen level. Under the supervision of the Grossing Supervisor and general technical direction of pathologists, the PA Trainer is responsible for training new and current PA's and Grossing Technicians in the accurate description and dissection of all specimens, in a fast paced, high-volume environment. The PA Trainer is also responsible for assisting in the training of any students in the University of Washington PA training program who may rotate through the CellNetix Grossing department. The PA Trainer is also expected to maintain ASCP certification. The PA Trainer must adhere to HIPAA standards. Due to various environmental hazards presented in the workplace such as formalin, communicable disease, fresh human tissue, etc., employees must also adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures and Personal Protective Equipment requirements. Position Schedule: M-F, 10am - 6:30pm with flexibility to shift up to 1-2 hours earlier or later depending on the trainee's permanent schedule.
