About The Position
Mercy Medical Center, Springfield MA is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant for a per diem position. The role involves gross descriptions, dissection of surgical specimens, and preparation of tissue for processing by the Histology laboratory. Responsibilities include performing and supervising post-mortem examinations, reviewing patient clinical histories, evisceration and dissection of organs, sampling tissues, photography of specimens, dictation of gross autopsy findings, and preparation of provisional anatomic diagnoses under the supervision of an attending pathologist.
