The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Pathology is seeking experienced applicants for an academic position in the Pediatric Pathology Division. In addition to patient care activities, the selected candidate will be expected to participate in medical student and house staff teaching and develop or continue his/her research program. The primary clinical responsibilities are at the 487-bed, tertiary care, Children’s Medical Center, Dallas, TX with 9500 surgical specimens, 60 perinatal and pediatric autopsies, and 3000 placentas annually. Additional clinical responsibilities are at the 72-bed Children’s Medical Center, Plano, TX and other Children’s Health outreach locations. In addition to patient care activities, the incumbent will be expected to participate in departmental and institutional activities, medical student and house staff teaching and mentoring, and develop or continue his/her own research program. Outstanding opportunities for collaborative, translational research are available with members of both basic science and clinical departments throughout UT Southwestern. Competitive salary and start-up will be provided. The position requires experience in all facets of pediatric and perinatal pathology and demonstrated accomplishments in research. Applicant must have an M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or D.O., be certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology, be board-eligible or certified in Pediatric Pathology, and have or be eligible for a full Texas medical license.
