About The Position

The individual will be responsible for examining daily tissue biopsies prepared by laboratory personnel, tasked with checking the accuracy of lab tests and interpreting the results in order to facilitate the patient's diagnosis and treatment. They work closely with laboratory staff and play a vital role in providing timely results as part of a patient's primary health care team. Team of 7 pathologists Working Hours: 5 days a week/ flexible hours (mornings, afternoons or evenings) Expectations: Daily tissue biopsies, to be diagnosed in accordance with College of American Pathologists turnaround time standards. Ability to work collaboratively with other pathologists, including internal quality assurance and intradepartmental consultation. Capable of maintaining an efficient workflow when diagnosing biopsies. Comply with all safety and regulatory policies.

Requirements

  • Experience with Gastrointestinal Pathology sign-out, including either: 1 year of fellowship, or 2-5 years of experience in General Surgical Pathology sign-out, with Gastrointestinal Pathology exposure.
  • Medical degree and appropriate licensing required
  • American Board of Pathology Diplomate preferred
