Organization: Gross Room Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY Provides patient-focused care through the examination of surgical specimens and timely completion of surgical case reports independently. Responsible for the accurate performance of gross dissection to support microscopic diagnosis and other duties in a manner that complies with all approved protocols. Utilizes critical thinking and problem solving skills to assure accurate and reliable clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Performs examination, gross dissection, and documentation of surgical specimens, under supervision of pathologist.
• Actively participates in compliance and quality management activities on a daily basis and special projects as indicated.
• Assists with special tissue processing (tissue in special fixatives, tissue culture media, selection for culture.
