About The Position

Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Pathology Lab Accessioner unpacks pathology specimens, assures specimens are properly labeled and that critical information on the label matches information on the requisition, registers the specimen in the Lab Information System (LIS) distributes specimens to the appropriate laboratory section, and continues to gain knowledge of specimens and their adequacy for testing. Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday. Tues-Friday hours are 5am-1:30pm, Saturday hours are 3am-11:30am.

Requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience in medical and/or laboratory setting understanding of medical terminology required.
• Candidate must demonstrate dependability, flexibility and adaptability in all aspects of laboratory responsibilities and scheduling hours.

Nice To Haves

• Students seeking Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology or related field desirable.
