Gastro One is seeking a dedicated Pathology Assistant to join our team, where patient care is our top priority. As a Pathology Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our laboratory, ensuring that specimens are collected, processed, and analyzed with the utmost care and precision. Your responsibilities will include the collection and accession of specimens, entering data into our laboratory information system, and performing essential microbiology and histology procedures. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the pathology field and are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients. In your daily duties, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory procedures, including embedding, processing, staining, and cover-slipping of specimens. You will also maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring that all solutions are changed as needed and that quality control measures are adhered to. Additionally, you will manage the filing of patient blocks and slides, track consults and additional stains sent to other labs, and ensure compliance with state regulations regarding documentation and waste disposal.
