Patent Agent with Aerospace Background

Venable LLP's Patent Prosecution and Counseling group is seeking a patent agent with a strong aerospace engineering background and experience in engine technology. This position is focused exclusively on technology prosecution matters, and candidates can work from either the Washington, D.C. or New York office. The ideal candidate will be a registered patent agent with examining experience at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) or patent drafting experience in a law firm setting. This role offers an opportunity to leverage deep technical knowledge in patent prosecution, making it an excellent fit for those with undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering. The firm has a strong preference for candidates who have previous experience as a patent examiner, and industry experience is considered a plus. Candidates must possess excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and sharp analytical abilities. The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from $160,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on the qualifications of the patent agent.
