As a Pastry Sous Chef at The Maybourne Beverly Hills, you will hold a key leadership position in our distinguished culinary team. Your role will involve crafting and delivering exquisite pastries, desserts, and confections that leave a lasting impression on our esteemed guests.

Requirements

  • Culinary degree or certification in Pastry Arts is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in pastry and dessert preparation, including experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining setting.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of pastry techniques and dessert styles.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to adapt and create innovative pastry concepts in line with evolving culinary trends.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to design and execute a diverse range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, keeping in line with our luxury standards.
  • Assist in supervising the pastry kitchen team, ensuring that all pastry preparations are of the highest quality and that standards are consistently met.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of pastry preparation, presentation, and taste, ensuring that the final products exceed guest expectations.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of pastry recipes, taking into account current culinary trends and guest preferences.
  • Oversee the procurement, storage, and efficient use of pastry ingredients and supplies, minimizing waste and maximizing freshness.
  • Enforce and maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Mentor and train pastry team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Assist in creating visually appealing pastry menus, complementing the overall culinary experience at The Maybourne Beverly Hills.
  • Accommodate special requests or dietary preferences, ensuring their satisfaction with dessert offerings.
