About The Position

The Pastry Producer / Ice Cream Maker at Milk Jawn is responsible for crafting high-quality ice cream and its ingredients in a fast-paced, supportive environment. This role involves baking, preparing mix-ins, and operating kitchen equipment to produce delicious ice cream products while adhering to food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry production and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.

Requirements

  • Age 18+
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a professional kitchen
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with baking, pastry production, and candy-making
  • Ability to handle ingredients at extremely high temperatures safely and efficiently
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Knowledge of standard kitchen safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • A kind, hard-working, professional, team-oriented attitude
  • Great communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Bake and prepare mix-ins and ice cream inclusions, such as fudge, lemon curd, cookie dough, caramel, fruit compotes, cookies, brownies, etc.
  • Follow recipe and production protocol precisely, measuring all ingredients as specified.
  • Operate kitchen equipment expertly and efficiently.
  • Prepare ice cream bases and produce ice cream according to the daily Production Schedule.
  • Operate ice cream machine to manufacture ice cream.
  • Assist with making novelties, such as ice cream tacos and ice cream sandwiches.
  • Pint and package finished ice cream into containers cleanly and efficiently.
  • Accurately inventory all produced materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Exercise excellent time management and ensure all duties are completed in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all Food Safety standards and follow Good Manufacturing Practices while handling food products and equipment.
  • Complete and file daily production logs.
  • Always be on the lookout for ways to improve efficiency and prevent food waste.
  • Willingness to jump in and assist with other general tasks of all kinds as they arise.
