Basic Purpose: The Pastry Cook prepares all bread and pastry items of consistent quality following recipe cards, as well as production, portion , and presentation standards; complete mise en place and set-up station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service. Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to develop and produce innovative product for each hotel outlet .

Requirements

A minimum 3-5 years culinary or related work experience.
Education: High school education, cooking school or culinary institute education or equivalent experience
Excellent communication and organization skills
Works in a careful and meticulous nature
Strong sense of urgency
Strong interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

Experience with wedding cakes, banquets, or bread work is a plus .

Responsibilities

To produce and assist with the mise- en -place and cooking of all menu items ensuring the highest of standards are maintained for all outlets.
The ability to ensure superior production of all sweet items, pastries, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, breads, chocolates, etc. for all outlets as well as banquets and amenities.
The ability to establish standard recipes and ensure the compliance with them .
The ability to communicate regularly with the Pastry management team, and contribute to menu development and recipe creation for a variety of outlets.
Create and maintain a positive work environment conducive to learning and growth for all team members.
Assist in prep work as for the next shift .
