About The Position

Pastry Cook at C. Ellet's Steakhouse We are seeking a talented and ambitious Pastry Cook to join our team of driven and enthusiastic hospitality professionals. At C. Ellet’s pays homage to the great American steakhouses and Chef Hopkins’ time spent cooking in New Orleans. From fast-paced game days to relaxed private dining experiences, C. Ellet’s is a convivial place for all to gather and celebrate. Our Pastry Cooks earn $18 - $22 an hour based on experience. Join us and put your pastry skills to work! What is the Job? This will be a dedicated role to the bread and pastry programs at C. Ellet's. The Pastry Cook will steward the dessert menu as directed by the Chef de Cuisine, from New York Cheesecake to Creme Brulee, and everything in between. To be a successful Pastry Cook with us, the ideal candidate must be as passionate as they are reliable. They will maintain a working knowledge of all recipes, products and procedures to ensure consistency and deliciousness of all menu items. They will assist with inventory, organization and overall cleanliness to ensure the quality and freshness of our products.

Requirements

  • LOVE PASTRY! You love eating it, you love making it. You consider pastry a craft to be honed over time with lots of practice.
  • LOVE LEARNING! You devour books on pastry, both old & new. Asking questions and wondering why/how things work comes natural to you, and you delight in finding the answers. You’re a pastry nerd!
  • BE CLEAN & ORGANIZED! You're obsessed with FiFo, recipe binders, label makers and a tight walk-in.
  • BE FLEXIBLE! We are open 7 days a week, which includes early mornings & most holidays. Having open availability and a “can-do" attitude is key for this candidate.
  • HAVE THE HUSTLE! You work like you mean it. You manage your time well; with urgency, confidence and efficiency.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • 2+ years of relevant experience as a Pastry Cook
  • Weekend availability required

Nice To Haves

  • A Culinary degree
  • Food Safety knowledge
