About The Position

The Pastry Cook is skilled in the preparation of baked goods, including breads, pastries, and desserts served throughout the resort. This individual will be responsible for completing the daily production lists assigned by the Executive Pastry Chef based on restaurant and banquet demands. They must be familiar with the operation of all kitchen equipment used in the Pastry Department. All Pastry Cooks must maintain their respective works areas according to health department sanitation standards and report any inoperable equipment to the Kitchen Engineer.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; culinary technical courses preferred.
  • 2 years of baking experience in hotels, bakeries or full-service restaurants.
  • Conversational English including the ability to read menus and recipe cards.
  • Ability to handle high volume activity for restaurant and banquet functions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain work areas clean and organized.
  • Monitor the presentation and portioning of food according to standards.
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of all food served from the lines.
  • Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Set up, restock, maintain and clean food preparation areas.
  • Display knowledge in sanitation and sanitary food handling.
  • Ensure the special of the day is completed in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare food in accordance with working menus, recipe cards and photos.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
