About The Position

The Pastry Cook is a very precise position. You are executing recipes for all the outlets and plating banquets while maintaining a clean workstation. his position is made for someone who is a hard worker and is driven by learning and excitement to create memorable cuisine for a great guest experience every day. This person executes recipes that directly impact every outlet of the hotel.

Requirements

  • You must have at least 1-2 years of Pastry experience
  • Great team player with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the group
  • Ability to adapt to change in menus and concepts
  • Strong communication skills to all team members
  • Be able to use metric measurements
  • Can build cakes and plate banquets
  • Creativity and innovation are essential!
  • Product knowledge, yeah you must know what you are talking about. If you don't know it, you research it
  • Find solutions before problems arise
  • You must know weights and measurements
  • Anticipate needs and over deliver wherever possible
  • Candidates must think on their feet and use their initiative to solve problems and deliver solutions
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures. The kitchens need to be clean, organized, and sanitary. Proper temperature procedures are always in place
  • Organization, your mise en place, is en place.
  • Able to change direction and work on multiple project aspects at once as needed

  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active SNHD Food Handlers card with a minimum of six months before expiration
  • Previous experience as a prep cook or equivalent
  • Communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Use all tools associated with the position including but not limited to knives, slicers and choppers
  • Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation
  • Inspect quality of all food items
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Move effectively and efficiently throughout work areas
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of items, including pastries, breads, cakes, chocolates, and frozen desserts
  • Follow established recipes and techniques, maintaining high-quality, consistent, and creative presentations
  • Maintain strict cleanliness standards, following Health Department regulations, ensuring proper food handling, storage, and equipment sanitation
  • Monitor and restock raw materials, prepare daily ingredient requisitions, and minimize waste
  • Assist chefs and other staff to support restaurant, catering, and pastry operations
