About The Position

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Pastry Cook to assist in the preparation and presentation of baked goods and desserts in a fast-paced kitchen. This position supports the Pastry Chef in daily production, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to food safety standards.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in a bakery, restaurant, or pastry kitchen.
  • Basic understanding of baking techniques and food safety standards.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary certificate or formal training in baking or pastry arts.
  • Experience working with plated desserts in a fine dining environment.
  • Experience with Mediterranean cuisine and ingredients a plus.
  • Knowledge of local and/or season ingredients a plus.
  • Knowledge of common allergens.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake pastries, breads, cakes, cookies, and other desserts per approved recipes and follow direction.
  • Assist with decorating and plating desserts for service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized station, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with inventory, prep work, and restocking ingredients.
  • Monitor oven and kitchen equipment, reporting maintenance issues as needed.
  • Follow daily prep schedules and production checklists.
