About The Position

Uchi Philadelphia (coming soon!) is accepting resumes for Pastry Cooks! Located in Rittenhouse Square, orientation is slated to begin at the end of October 2025 with a planned opening date in November 2025! Our Pastry team focuses on dessert production to prepare for dinner service, which can include baking, sauce work, chocolate work, and more. This is a morning to mid afternoon shift, with hours typically ranging from 7am to 3pm. Previous experience with pastry production is preferred. We're offering $17-23/hr + benefits.

Requirements

• Previous experience with pastry production is preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with guests and other employees.
• Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold.
• Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors.
• Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and personal grooming.
• Understand directives and communicate effectively with Leadership and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare desserts for dinner service including baking, sauce work, and chocolate work.
• Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage of supplies and cleaning of surfaces.
• Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs.
• Stock inventory and perform restocking duties.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives.
• Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs.
• Work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area.
