About The Position

PASTRY CHEF to lead our restaurants baking and dessert operations. JUST EAT LOCAL is a family of 3 restaurants in one building in the heart of downtown Boise; Bittercreek Alehouse, Red Feather Lounge, and Diablo & Sons Saloon. Our culinary and beverage focus is building products that help define our local culture through sourcing of raw materials and creative spirit. We are known for our commitment to local sourcing and environmental stewardship. Along with people and place, we value tradition, imagination and creativity. Our Pastry Chef is a key member of our kitchen leadership team with creative oversight of our baking and dessert offerings. JUST EAT LOCAL Is the restaurant family behind Bittercreek Alehouse, Red Feather Lounge, and Diablo & Sons Saloon on 8th street in Downtown Boise. Requirements

  • professional experience as a baker or pastry chef
  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation and professional techniques
  • Artisan bread-making experience
  • Understanding of beverage/dessert pairings

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in culinary arts or relevant field (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide variety of menu items such as restaurant breads and desserts.
  • Have a working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations, i.e., gluten-free, sugarless, nut-free, etc.
  • Oversee bakery inventory and order according to needs & within budget.
  • Monitor quality of materials and condition of equipment and supplies specific to bakery.
  • Identify staffing needs and help recruit, train and manage assistant baker/pastry personnel.
  • Coordinate pastry menu and breads with the executive chef.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards.
