About The Position

The Pastoral Care Coordinator coordinates ministry services for staff, clients, and volunteers. This includes but is not limited to residential and outpatient addiction treatment, outpatient mental health care, and residential housing services. This position will build and maintain relationships with community faith partners to support client growth, cultivate volunteers, and facilitate activities that support emotional and spiritual wellness.

Requirements

  • Background in Christian ministry/Ordination with four years' experience in the field -Or- A degree in Christian counseling/Biblical studies with 1-year experience in an equivalent field.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license with no restrictions to become fully insurable.
  • Will become commissioned as a Volunteers of America minister within the first year of employment.
  • All candidates will need prior approval before being hired by the Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) and Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to work with offenders in our Re-Entry program and also complete forty hours of training from both agencies.
  • Interpersonal and collaboration skills are necessary.
  • Effective organizational skills.

  • Take the initiative and meet established goals.
  • Work with a variety of computer software programs; Microsoft Word, Excel, and Desktop Publishing
  • Communication proficiency and practical communication skills, both oral and written with co-workers, potential clients, and referral sources in person and using a telephone, email, and fax.
  • Work with potentially difficult people in crises.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information to include protected health information.
  • Work with a team in developing and updating the curriculum for CEP groups.
  • Continuous demonstration of behaviors aligned with a posture of servant leadership and our cultural values

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Christian counseling/biblical studies from an accredited Theological Seminary with one or more years of experience in the field.
  • Lived experience allowing the employee to complete Peer Certification training and provide Peer Support group/individual care.

Responsibilities

  • Process client spiritual interest and exit forms
  • Coordinate Christian Enhancement Programming (CEP) in various programs
  • Provide a regular schedule of pastoral care opportunities for clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Churches and spiritual organizations
  • Conduct ministry presentations to partners, donors, and volunteers
  • Coordinate volunteer participation with clients
  • Monitor patient attendance of CEP groups
  • Document group notes when necessary
  • Work with the Senior Director of Ministry to create and approve the curriculum
  • Work with relevant staff to determine solutions and provide accountability to patients when necessary.
  • Assist staff with patient discharge planning, making referrals to spiritual resources in the patient's home community to support their recovery.
