About The Position

Our Pastoral/Spiritual Associate roles are an integral piece in our care team and we see it as a partnership. The position involves visiting patients, assessing their needs, interacting with families and other hospital staff for the good of the patient, facilitating chapel services, and responding to all codes and crisis calls.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
• One year of pastoral experience.

Responsibilities

• Visits patients, families and staff.
• Prepares daily census sheets for the department.
• Prepares for chapel services.
• Coordinates all sacramental/liturgical ministry within the hospital and documents what is necessary.
• Refers patients, families, and staff to chaplains, priests and ministers, as needed.
• Sends sympathy cards to families of deceased patients.
• Participates in and plans for memorial services.
• Responds to all codes.
• Covers on call shifts as assigned.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
