The Pasteurizer Operator at Saputo Cheese USA, LLC is responsible for the operation and monitoring of pasteurization equipment and related processes in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards while maintaining effective communication with other departments to meet production schedules. The operator will also perform routine maintenance, documentation, and sanitation tasks as part of their responsibilities.

  • Operate pasteurization equipment and ensure proper functioning of tanks, pumps, product lines, and valves.
  • Follow established Product Processing guidelines to meet internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure timely processing and supply of products.
  • Complete and maintain accurate documentation, charts, and records as per Chart Recording guidelines.
  • Utilize computer-based software and automated control systems for operations.
  • Support compliance audits, both internal and external.
  • Obtain and maintain a state pasteurization license.
  • Process product reclaim according to defined guidelines.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas as required.
  • Make routine adjustments to equipment as necessary.
  • Implement environmental controls as required by the department.
  • Adhere to GMP, Food Safety, and Allergen policies.
  • Follow health and safety policies and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Identify and report any out-of-specification product conditions according to established protocols.
  • Complete production records accurately and neatly.
  • Operate lift trucks and material handling equipment safely.
  • Cross-train with other departments as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices within the facility.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local dairy food regulations.
  • Uphold the Saputo code of ethics and values in all interactions.
  • Collaborate professionally with coworkers and other departments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in dairy.
  • Pasteurizer License for Grade A milk as per state regulations.
  • Strong math skills and proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems, with SAP being a plus.
  • Technical skills to operate and understand equipment controls and mechanical operations.
  • Ability to achieve lift truck certification and operate lift trucks safely.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work history with consistent attendance.
  • Advanced quality/food safety training with a focus on dairy science.
  • Competitive hourly pay rate of $26.07/hr plus $1.50/hr for shift work.
