About The Position

As part of the Chassis Active Safety and Durability testing team, testing engineer will be responsible to manage testing and development activities as regards to Complete Vehicle Durability. The role requires someone highly organized, objectively-focused, and with ability to manage their own daily routine. Plan and manage safety test programs supporting new vehicle development, global launches, regional/supplier changes, regulatory certification, and consumer ratings. Report and communicate test results, research findings, and concerns to engineering teams to inform product development. Design test fixtures using CATIA/3DX CAD software to meet program needs. Lead lab improvement projects to enhance execution efficiency, ensure global consistency, and maintain test quality. Perform dimensional measurements to verify vehicle compliance with regulatory standards. Assign and clearly communicate daily test responsibilities to technicians to maintain lab efficiency and meet aggressive test schedules. Develop and improve supporting processes, test documentation, and work instructions. Maintain safe working practices and ensure a safe lab environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience (4+ years in a relevant technical role).
  • 2+ years of experience in vehicle safety testing or a related graduate program.
  • Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems (DAS) and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency with hydraulic control systems hardware and software.
  • Experience interpreting and reporting vehicle structural safety test results.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills across diverse cultures.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 preferred).
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, detail-focused approach.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • Structural crashworthiness experience preferred.
  • Dewesoft experience preferred.
  • Background in metrology or dimensional inspection is a plus.
