About The Position

The Mobile Mammography Patient Access Specialist/Driver is responsible for scheduling, registering and offering financial assistance to screening mammogram patients. Responsible for driving the mobile mammography coach to and from screening locations, maintaining interior and exterior upkeep of coach, and coordinating all vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CDL license
  • No prior job-related work experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred educational qualifications: Associate degree
  • One year experience or additional training in customer service and general clerical/office procedures.
  • Experience driving a commercial vehicle.
  • Knowledge of Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and CDL Guidelines

  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Radiation safety
  • Overall knowledge of third-party collections, registration, billing and contracts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs pre and post trip inspection report of mobile mammography coach.
  • Drives to screening location. Once at designated location, prepares vehicle for patient entry. This includes stabilization of vehicle with the use of chocks.
  • Greets and interviews screening mammogram patients in a respectful, timely manner. Answers questions regarding procedures, informs patients and families of exam state or delays. Promptly notifies technologist of patient arrival.
  • Strictly follows all safety practices and policies. Utilizes the two patient identification method to ensure the correct patients being transported for testing.
  • Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Educates patient about the exam.
  • Operates computerized Hospital/Radiology Information systems to arrive, register, place and cancel orders, update patient information, and facilitate patient and exam tracking.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with customers, technologist and manager.
  • Maintains knowledge of the locations, and operations of all emergency equipment in the unit.
  • Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.
  • Upon hospital arrival at end of day, reestablishes connection to shore power.
