About The Position

The Party Room Host is the on-site liaison between the Carson Ross Community Recreation Center and party room rental clients. Work closely with the Recreation Coordinator for party rental details. This includes setting up, dissemination of information concerning party room use. Responsible for the cleanliness of rooms, equipment, safety of the participants and maintaining a positive healthy environment. This job requires flexible hours, including evenings, weekdays and holidays.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must obtain CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • No experience necessary.
  • Skilled in effective verbal communication and reacting professionally during emergencies.
  • Ability to work independently and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work well with patrons of all ages.
  • Ability to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions and perform a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear frequently; must be able to frequently use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or office machines; must be able to frequently reach with hands and arms; must be able to occasionally life, move, push, pull, or transport up to 50 pounds at least 25 feet; must have close vision and the ability to adjust focus frequently.
  • Most work is performed in various athletic settings where weather conditions will vary.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service; demonstrates a positive attitude, displays professionalism, courtesy and assists customers and other employees.
  • Communicates room use and rental and rental policies and procedures to users to keep use to appropriate time slots.
  • Distributes the appropriate wrist bands to all attendees per Center policies and procedures.
  • Prepares room use to include setting table height, chairs, tablecloths and other decorative needs. Coordinates clients’ caterings and vendor contractor, maintains room cleanliness requiring sweeping, mopping, trash pick-up, and trash removal. Assists renters with AV needs within the room.
  • Follows and enforces applicable safety rules and regulations related to the use of the facility.
  • Obey and comply with all City of Blue Springs, Blue Springs Parks and Recreation, State and Local ordinances and policies.
