About The Position

As a Party/Facility Attendant, you will engage in a wide variety of birthday parties located at the Lincoln Center in downtown Downers Grove. Party/Facility Attendants will organize, prepare, and implement a pre-planned birthday party theme for children ages 3 and up while leading games, arts and crafts, and a variety of activities. The ideal candidate has a passion for working with children, positive and energetic attitude, and desire to create fun and memorable experiences for children and their families!

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Exhibit problem-solving abilities, adaptability, safety awareness, good judgement, and willingness to learn.
Possess good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and program participants, especially children.
First Aid/CPR certified within 90 days (District provided).

Responsibilities

Prepare party room for the event. This may include, but is not limited to, performing set-ups and take-downs, completing required cleanings, decorating and preparing games and crafts, ensuring the building is opened and closed before/after the event.
Lead pre-planned birthday party activities for children based on themes selected by the birthday family. This may include nerf games, tie-dye crafts, princess/superhero themed games, indoor scavenger hunts, etc.
Assist clients with loading and unloading event materials from their vehicle.
Assist with general custodial duties, which may include managing spills or other waste materials, restocking restrooms, and removing event trash from the building to an outside dumpster.
Interact effectively and professionally with clients, children, and coworkers for events.
Ensure clients arrive at their scheduled time and leave at their scheduled time.
Maintain accurate attendance at each party.
Perform other related duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Ensure Park District’s safety policies are being followed and implemented
