About The Position

The Parts Specialist will be responsible for selling activities involving over the counter and service parts customer requests as well as for warehouse shipping and receiving actions. This position checks repair work orders for parts billed and charges out necessary parts on work orders; coordinates with Parts team members to ensure inventory accuracy and the timely delivery of parts. This role serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all parts administrative policies and processes including parts storage, tracking issues, confirming stock orders and ensuring all other administrative policies are adhered to and strictly followed during the sales process for over the counter parts and service parts requests. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position. Work hours are normally 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Parts Specialist may be required to work occasional overtime and/or during the weekend to meet deadlines and goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Parts selling experience in a mechanical repair business.
  • Order taking experience via phone, email, electronic process in a service industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, catalogs, computer displays, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
  • Excellent phone, computer, and communication skills.
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers and employees.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
  • Ability to load, unload, and move materials within sites that are near operational areas.
  • Ability to provide sound advice and technical assistance to those with less experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office product.
  • Possess and maintain a valid California Drivers License
  • Flexible team player
