About The Position

Inventory Specialist Location: Byron Center, MI Employment Type: Full-Time Keep Our Operations Moving – Be the Backbone of Our Parts Department! Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about keeping operations running smoothly? Rohr’s Parts Department is looking for an Inventory Specialist to manage parts ordering and inventory for construction and service jobs across Rohr Gasoline Equipment and Kelly Maintenance. In this role, you’ll play a key part in maximizing part sales, controlling expenses, and delivering exceptional customer service—both internally and externally. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy building strong relationships, we want to hear from you! What You’ll Do Source and provide limited or hard-to-find parts as requested. Maintain an accurate and effective parts inventory control system. Manage multiple part locations and ensure necessary parts are stocked. Create purchase orders for stock, customers, or work orders. Monitor market pricing to secure the best inventory costs. Conduct inventory counts and replenish or purge stock based on usage reports. Receive and verify parts against shipping documents for accuracy. Keep the Parts Department clean and organized. Understand parts for both construction and service fields related to the petroleum industry. Provide internal employees and customers with requested parts (may require driving to DHT locations). Maintain positive relationships with vendors, customers, and employees. Delegate daily tasks to Parts personnel effectively. Prepare shipments for transfer to other DHT locations. Handle incoming customer calls for parts orders and service requests courteously and efficiently. Schedule service teams on the service board daily to optimize productivity. Input service calls into Aptora and coordinate with technicians. Monitor job progress and update the service board as needed. What We’re Looking For Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Requirements

  • 2-3 years of applicable experience
  • Organized, strong time management skills
  • Must be able to use Windows-based programs and be able to learn/understand our business management software
  • Acceptable MVR
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen
  • Possess the stamina to stand for extended periods of time
  • Possess the ability to move and bend frequently
  • Possess the ability to climb ladders and reach merchandise regularly
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Experience with inventory control systems and ordering processes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, inventory software).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in parts management or related field preferred.
  • Verifiable experience with Aptora
  • Experience with Microsoft, Outlook, and Excel
