About The Position

Pape’ Machinery, Inc., a premier capital equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-oriented Parts Sales Counterperson II. This role involves being the primary parts expert for customers, assisting them with equipment maintenance and repair needs both face-to-face at the counter and over the phone. Key responsibilities include identifying customer needs, recommending parts (including complex or uncommon items), and utilizing product literature, specialized software, and expert knowledge to provide timely and accurate solutions. The position emphasizes building trust and lasting relationships with clients through excellent customer service, a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to finding optimal solutions. Requirements

  • 3 or more years of parts counter experience or applicable mechanical/service experience
  • Advanced knowledge of parts inventory
  • Self-motivation and assertive drive
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person to sell company parts and other services
  • Above-average organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to parts expert for customers looking to maintain and repair their equipment
  • Engage with customers face-to-face at the counter or over the phone
  • Ensure customers get the right parts when they need them most
  • Actively engage with customers to identify their needs and provide recommendations
  • Identify complex or uncommon parts
  • Use product literature, specialized software systems, and expert knowledge of parts and equipment to offer timely and accurate solutions
  • Translate technical details into actionable parts support
  • Build trust and lasting relationships with clients
