About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier capital equipment dealer in the West, is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Parts Sales Counterperson I to join their team in Anchorage, AK. This role involves being the primary parts expert for customers needing to maintain and repair their class 7 & 8 diesel trucks. The Counterperson will ensure customers receive the correct parts promptly, interacting both face-to-face at the counter and over the phone. Daily tasks include actively engaging with customers to identify their needs, providing recommendations, and utilizing product literature, specialized software systems, and personal knowledge of parts and diesel trucks to offer accurate solutions. The position emphasizes translating technical details into actionable parts support, building trust, and fostering lasting relationships with clients through excellent customer service, a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to finding the best solutions. Requirements

  • Verifiable parts counter experience or applicable mechanical/service experience.
  • Basic knowledge of parts inventory.
  • Self-motivation and assertive drive.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person to sell company parts and other services.
  • Above-average organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to parts expert for customers looking to maintain and repair their class 7 & 8 diesel trucks.
  • Ensure customers get the right parts when they need them most, whether face-to-face at the counter or over the phone.
  • Actively engage with customers to identify their needs and provide recommendations.
  • Use product literature, specialized software systems, and growing knowledge of parts and diesel trucks to offer timely and accurate solutions.
  • Translate technical details into actionable parts support.
  • Build trust and create lasting relationships with clients.
